ENJJPT

ENJJPTEuro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training is a US-based Programme. The ENJJPT system currently to continue until at least 2016.ENJJPT is located at Sheppard AFB, Texas. The course lasts about 55 weeks. Students learn with, and are taught by USAF officers and officers from various air forces of our European allies. Student pilots first fly the T-6 Texan II mastering contact, instrument, low-level and formation flying. Then progresses to supersonic T-38 and continue building the skills necessary to become a fighter pilot.

IT AIM-LIFT

IT AIM-LIFTItaly is also offering places with its 61st Training Wing at Galatina-Lecce AB, which will use their current fleet of newly (2009) upgraded Aermacchi MB-339 CDII for advanced instruction and the M-346 for the LIFT (Lead-In Fighter Trainer) course. The latter type will be used to provide more tactical training, and to remove work from the OCU level.

Kiran HJT-16 Crashed Near Chennai

Kiran HJT-16 Crashed Near ChennaiAn Indian Air Force trainer jet crashed into a lake at Iyyancherry in Urapakkam, 30km south of Chennai, at 10.30am on Tuesday (31 Jan 2012). The jet took off from Tambaram Air Force Station earlier.One of the two airmen in the Kiran HJT-16 aircraft was injured in the incident. Wing Commander C. G. Deepak suffered severe injuries to the legs when his parachute got caught in a tree. Deepak was injured when he fell off the tree and onto a compound wall in the backyard of a house. He was taken to hospital and the doctors said his condition was stable. His co-pilot, Squadron Leader K P Singh, landed safely in the Narmada Nagar area despite brushing against an electric wire.There were no casualties on the ground as the pilots had guided the jet towards the lake before ejecting to safety
